Partner Lada Riisna and attorney-at-law Valeria Arsjuta successfully represented the client in the Court of Appeal in an administrative case involving international deep-sea research company Magellan Ltd

At the end of September, the Tallinn Court of Appeal made a decision in the case concerning Magellan Ltd’s complaint for compensation for damages caused by the Estonian Tax and Customs Board and the Strategic Goods Comission operating under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for the determination of the absence of an export license requirement, and for establishing the unlawfulness of a delay by the Strategic Goods Commission.

This proceeding is related to Magellan Ltd’s claim for damages, which is still under the proceedings in the Tallinn Administrative Court. According to Magellan, in light of the aforementioned decision, new grounds and prospects have arisen for resolving the claim for damages. Because the license application was not reviewed within a reasonable time, the company suffered losses.
