Professional activities

  • Beata Schmidt has broad and long-standing experience from working at Harju County Court and Tallinn Circuit Court. She also has internship experience at the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Estonian Lawyers’ Union.
  • Before joining Cuesta Law Office, Beata worked for many years as a judicial clerk in the field of civil law at Harju County Court and later as a senior judicial clerk at Tallinn Circuit Court. Her duties included preparing draft court decisions, preparing cases for judicial proceedings, deciding on the acceptance of complaints for processing, actively participating in judicial panel discussions, and providing proposals to judges.
  • In addition to her legal work, Beata has contributed to society as a volunteer. She has provided free legal aid through the Estonian Lawyers’ Union and participated in an educational project with The Educational Volunteers Foundation of Turkey.
  • Since 2025, Beata has been collaborating on an as-needed basis with an advisor from the Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Digital Affairs, participating in a project focused on the digitalization of cross-border legal cooperation. This reflects her in-depth understanding of international legal frameworks and her interest in innovative solutions in the justice system.
